Lojong Mind training
Crises and wars, the images of suffering and destruction, injustice and the associated feeling of helplessness and powerlessness, often lead to a feeling of separation from the world. The stress of everyday life and the overwhelm often lead to us feeling separated from ourselves. With the help of Lojong mind training and Metta and Tonglen meditation, we can learn in a very gentle way to open our hearts to ourselves and the world and to reconnect with our own goodness of heart, and from there with the world. Lojong is a 1000-year-old teaching from Tibetan Buddhism. Metta is translated as “loving-kindness” and Tonglen is accepting suffering and sending loving-kindness and compassion. We will practice these two forms of meditation together at the weekend.
The “Seven Point Mind Training” was developed with the intention of supporting the generation of Bodhicitta. It is known in Tibetan Buddhism as ‘Lojong’ (‘posture’ training) and provides instructions for training the mind.

Dungsey Lhuntrul Dechen Gyurmey Rinpoche
Lhuntrul Dechen Gyurmey Rinpoche was born, in keeping with Guru Rinpoche’s prophecy, in 1976 as the son of His Eminence Namkha Drimed Rabjam Rinpoche and Khandro Chime Drolkar. He was recognized as the reincarnation of Jigme Tempay Gyeltsen, the 3rd Tamdrin Lhunpo Chogtrul. In conjunction with his recognition, he was enthroned at Namdroling monastery in Mysore amidst an ocean of lamas, tulkus, and monks presided over by Kyabje Drupwang Penor Rimpoche, who bestowed upon him the name Gyurme Thegchog Shedrub Tenpay Gyeltsen.
